To blog or not to continue to blog?

Blogging it is such a great Idea in class. I cannot believe how much of an advantage it will give to reach out to students. Students now a days are either playing x-box watching television and yes online. Almost every kid i talk to has a computer. In the past my excuse for not implementing technology as much was that not all students had computers. But now i hear students talking to each other about how they were able to go to the library and use a computer..and these are the kids that cant afford one. So.. the resources are out there and if children are willing to go out and get it, it is my job to incorporate technology to the class. Blog will be used in my class from now on. Pod casting will be in the works as well as video streaming. I am excited in learning new ways to help students learn. Viva Web 2.0

Hello there, Daniel. Hope your weekend is going well. I have to agree with your point. Once upon a time, our students did not have the technology necessary for us to implement it. But it is now evident that is no longer the issue. It's nice to see that you will take what you have learned in this class and use it for the students.

I am so pleased that you are going to pursue using blogging and other read/write web tools in the classroom. It sounds like you are as excited as me about the possibilities of all these new tools. Have you thought about what blogging platform to use with students? Maybe Blogmeister or http://21classes.com/

I hope you can catch some of the blogging presentations on K12Online Conference 07 at: http://k12onlineconference.org/

Daniel,

I've enjoyed reading all your blog and discussion posts, and I look forward to seeing additional postings from you in the future. Good luck with blogging in your classes - I'm thinking about it, but not yet totally sure I'm ready to try it.

I was also worried about using podcasts with my students. I now think it could be used to help them create and edit what they produce using content they can manage. Not all students are the same or learn the same way. as you said somewhere in our discussions. I'm hoping student swill enjoy podcasts and use them at their own pace and level.
